# Is Appointy HIPAA Compliant?

HIPAA compliance is actually an organizational obligation and software tools and software services cannot be HIPAA compliant, simply because software is a tool and not a business practice.

We have taken special care to provide you with full control over all of your information. Appointy technology, security, and privacy policies are in accordance with HIPAA standards, such as data encryption (SSL), system-user identifiers (logins, passwords), high-end physical server security, daily backups, strong privacy policies, timed log out and strong employee policies (Employees signing NDA).

However, if you send or receive protected health information in connection with the Services, you do so at your own risk, and you expressly agree to defend and indemnify Appointy for any claim relating to the noncompliance of the Services with **HIPAA** as provided in this Agreement.
